The benefits of horseback riding are multiple and well known. It is a full-body and mind workout. It requires good balance and co-ordination as the rider must listen and be aware of what the horse is doing, and adapt their own body movement accordingly.

Therefore, the muscles and thought processes required to balance on the horse and to ride have been proven to significantly improve core strength, stability, posture and co-ordination.

Physical and mental benefits of horseback riding:

  • Improved balance, coordination and posture
  • Improved core strength, stability and muscle tone
  • Improved focus and motor function
  • Improved confidence and leadership skills (In the team of horse and rider, the rider is the alpha)
  • Calming and grounding experience
  • Respect for the consciousness of horses, thereby others
